Restaurant atau rumah makan merupakan salah satu tempat yang sering dikunjungi. Ketika kalian liburan ke luar negeri, kalian pasti akan mampir ke restaurant dan kalian harus menggunakan bahasa internasional atau Bahasa Ingris. Pada artikel kali ini kita akan mempelajari tentang ungkapan-ungkapan dan percakapan yang digunakan ketika kita berada didalam rumah makan atau restaurant.

1. Expression

  • Ordering

Untuk makan di restaurant, kamu harus memesannya terlebih dahulu dan bisa memilih menu yang disukai.
Berikut beberapa expression untuk ordering (memesan):

1. What’s on the menu? (apa saja menunya?)
2. Could you bring us the menu? (bisa bawakan saya menunya?)
3. Do you have a set menu? (apakah ada menunya?)
4. What do you recommended? (menu apa yang direkomendasikan?)

1. I would like to order . . .(saya mau pesan . . .)
2. I’ll have . . .(saya mau pesan . . .)
3. I’d like . . .(saya mau pesan . . .)

  • During you meal

Berikut beberapa expression yang dapat digunakan ketika makan:

1. It’s a little over cooked.
(Ini agak gosong)
2. Pass me the pepper.
(Ambilkan saya merica)
3. This meal won’t fill you up.
(Makanan ini tidak akan membuatmu kenyang)
4. Would you like to take it home with you?
(Apakan makanan ini mau kamu bawa pulang?)
5. Would you like to see the dessert menu?
(Apakah kamu mau lihat menu makanan penutup?)

  • Paying

Berikut beberapa expression saat kamu hendak membayar:

1. I’m ready for my bill.
(Saya siap bayar tagihan saya)
2. Can I have my bill?
(Bisakah saya meminta tagihan saya?)
3. Could I get the check, please?
(Bisa saya lihat ceknya?
4. Can we get the check when you get a chance?
(Bisakah kami melihat cek nya?)

2. Conversation

Berikut contoh percakapan di restaurant:

(Coming to the restaurant)
Staff: Good evening. Welcome to Scholars Cafe.
Diana: I booked a table for two under the name of Diana
Staff: Yes, Mrs. Diana. Please come this way.
Diana: Here is your table.
Staff: Thanks for your help.

(Ordering)
Waiter: May I get you anything to drink?
Diana: Could you bring us the menu?
Waiter: Of course, here you are.
Diana: May I get 2 glasses of orange juice?
Waiter: Sure, would you like an appetizer?
Diana: I’ll have mixed mushroom medley, please.
Lisa: I’d like meatball.
Waiter: Would you like to order anything else?
Diana: That’ll be all for now.
Waiter: Alright, thanks. Please wait for a while.

(Paying)
Diana: Can we have the check, please?
Cashier: Yes Mrs. I’ll take it. Here you are.
Diana: Okay, I’m ready to pay my bill.
Cashier: Yes Mrs. How will you pay, cash or card?
Dian: By cash, please.
Cashier: That will be 250 thousands, please.
Diana: Here you are.
Cashier: Thank you. Here is your change and your receipt.
Diana: Thank you.
Cashier: My pleasure.
